2. Router vs Modem: Connections
As mentioned above that the Router is a wireless device which means that it can connect to multiple devices, whereas the Modem can only connect to one device. Also, the connection range of the router is way higher than the modem which means you can connect to it even you are far away from it. You need an ethernet cable to connect your device to the modem, whereas the Router doesn’t need any cable because it’s a wireless device which you can connect even if you are not close to it.

3. Modem vs Router: Necessity
Now, you know both provide you an internet connection, but now a question arises, Is both of them are necessary to have an internet connection. The answer is simply no. The modem doesn’t provide you any security, whereas the router is specially designed to provide you extra security. Also, the router can connect to multiple devices which means that you can access the internet to over the unlimited number of devices.

Modem vs Router: Which One is Better?
Well, both of them have their own pros and cons as well as uses. You can use any wireless router you want, but in order to use a modem, you have to approve the modem from your ISP.
